Meet Taylor

A Seventh-Generation Iowan Whose Roots Run Deep

A Seventh-Generation Iowan Whose Roots Run Deep

Taylor is a seventh-generation Iowan, born and raised in Muscatine. His mom, a preschool teacher, his dad and grandfather, both family doctors, and his maternal grandfather, a farmer, taught him early on the importance of working hard, serving his community, and doing what is right. This led Taylor to become a trade and national security lawyer working at the highest level of business and government to defend our country’s economic security, human rights, and the rule of law.

Taylor was prepared to take a position in government service with a top-level clearance protecting our economic security against foreign interference, until his position became a casualty of DOGE. Then, Donald Trump launched a pressure campaign against the law firm he worked at, and instead of holding him accountable, they caved to his bullying and agreed to do his legal work for free. That wasn’t right. Taylor quit his job, returned home, and began talking to friends and neighbors about how he could best serve his community.

He saw firsthand the damage being done by blanket tariffs, chaos in Washington, and soaring prices on groceries, housing, childcare, and everyday essentials. He knew that, while he and his wife are planning to start their family in Iowa, he wanted more for his future family. And he kept hearing about the need for new leadership in his district – that it was time for a new generation of Iowans to step forward with bold, new ideas.

Taylor decided then and there to run for Congress. Not because it would be easy, but because he knows that if we want change, we have to fight for it. Iowans deserve leaders who will fight for our communities, not bow to political party leaders. Leaders who will fight to keep our rural hospitals open, stand up for our farmers and small businesses navigating a historically chaotic economy, and keep faith with our Iowa seniors.

Taylor knows that we can’t keep doing the same thing, running the same candidates, and expecting different results. As a candidate and representative, he is committed to amplifying the voices of Iowans in both the urban parts of the district and the rural areas where he grew up.

We must be willing to try something new. That’s why Taylor is running for Congress. It’s time for a new generation to step up to fight for a better Iowa. Will you join him?
